The Barriers to and Impacts of Mapping Exploitative Rental Property Ownership

panelist presentation | Nov 2020 | [video]

In this presentation I share my process mapping an exploitative St. Louis landlord's property ownership footprint for the Riverfront Times. I discussed barriers to this type of research and notable impacts, including a few updates from Dutchtown South Community Corporation's efforts in organizing tenants of these properties.

Data Services at Washington University in St. Louis hosted the panel called “Mapping Social Justice” as part of their Geography awareness week. The speakers on the Mapping Social Justice panel addressed issues of housing, voting, racial violence, and ethical land use.
